Image slideshow

I'm a bit fed up with the 'standardized' slideshows I see on many websites nowadays. I'm talking about the image galleries that bring the website to the background using a semi-transparent - often black - layer while showing the slideshow in front. I've been using them myself, because with the help of lightweight JavaScript libraries like Mootools, jQuery, or creating this in Flash is fairly easy and a huge time-saver for basic webdevelopment. It also has a high efficiency rate. When it comes to viewing images on the web, it does the job more than well. The image is displayed on a reasonable size and no content interfears.

But, as this technique becomes a 'standard' among the slideshows, the creativity gets a bit lost on the way. For this microblog I wanted to add more consistency between the slideshow and the rest of the website. To demonstrate this I gathered some photos from London and added them to this post. I hope you like my approach and feel free to add a comment.
